Sometimes I stop to think: what kind of society are we creating here, and in this society we create, what are the morals and values we hold to?

I don't know how passe I may come across as, but in our economy of inflation and rising prices, it seems the only thing that has depreciated is the valuation of our modesty. To put it crudely, virginity is now worthless, and society condones it.

The government publicizes the use of condoms, and sets up helplines for teenage mothers. What about nipping the problem in the bud? How about instilling in the young that sex is a privilege of married life? It's very idealistic, and close to impossible, I know. Because the modern definition of love is twisted, and in a major way. There appears to be somewhat a romantic notion in engaging oneself in what is commonly regarded to be the highest form of love.

That is perhaps linked to what we see in the cinema. No matter how true the love between the leads, no matter how "meant for each other" they are, there almost always is sex involved. And in such a love-starved society, with people dogged in the pursuit of love, that, is a flaming beacon of direction.

And it will go on. The pillars have been set, and it only gets worse. Agreeing to enter a relationship is now silent consent to having sex with the other, only because that's the way it is now, and that's the way it will be.

Watching as society drives full throttle towards the wall of imminent doom, it is almost painful to anticipate the resounding crash.
